STEP 13 - live drum and bass / rock and roll
Step 13 are a heady mix of dance breaks, powerful rhythms and rock 'n' roll attitude for the mind and for the feet. Formed out of the wider Step 13 collective in 2004, the band have stormed venues from East London's Cargo and Rhythm Factory to Bristol's Clockwork and festivals such as Sunrise, Kingston Green Fair and many others. Comprising 100% live drums, floor-shaking bass, astringent guitar and keyboard riffery, synth madness and the unique vocals of MC Ishu, Step 13 are a shot in the arm of the UK's live dance scene.
What differentiates Step 13 from most other bands around is the way they manipulate the mood of the crowd like the very best DJs. They grab your attention and lift you up with their epic opener, space you out with laid-back grooves, then get everyone jumping around with infectious raggamuffin exuberance, before bringing the place to a breathless, sweaty climax with full-on, hard-hitting mash-up music. - Ben Thrush (DOA)
Step 13 at Glastonbury 2008! - Fri 27 to Sun 29th June 2008
We now have it confirmed - Step 13 will be playing at this year's Glastonbury Festival, Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June. Jay-Z has asked us to follow him on the Pyramid stage and we'll be performing a very special set alongside Massive Attack. OK, not really - but we will be there, in our S13-branded wellies. If you're going anyway - see you there. If you're not - tickets are still available at Glastonbury Festivals.
